I could push the pedal to the floor with little to no response and mostly no response.
Gas pedal to the floor no acceleration.
I am a bmw newbie and just went through the entire cooling fiasco and replaced all of that and now am having this.
What could be the likely issues please.
I wonder if that is the problem you are facing.
I cant find any.
Nothing at all besides a slight acceleration until we pulled off the road.
2002 530i went to start car today and it started at very low idle gave it gas but no response.
A few days later i pulled out of my driveway and the same exact thing happens gas pedal straight to the floor.
Sometimes just switching through the gears will cause it to start working in drive again.
It recognizes park and nuetral in that the rpm will go up as the gas pedal is pressed but no response when in.
When it can t properly engage the transmission with the engine your car shows acceleration issues.
Checked the fluids and they all seem okay.

Started the car a honda pilot 2004 it started normal but it won t accelate despite pressing the gas pedal accelerator to the fullest.
Upon trying to resume accelerating we got no response from the gas pedal.
Today s modern cars trucks and suvs are all equipped with an electronic throttle control system that contains an accelerator pedal position app sensor this sensor s primary job is to monitor the position of the throttle pedal and send an electronic signal to open the throttle body.
It could be a worn out clutch pedal or the clutch fluid.
Almost 90 of the time it s the clutch.
Need to floor the pedal a little to bring the rpm up to around 3000 then the pedal will become responsive again.
An alternator that is not putting out will not inhibit acceleration until the battery level gets so low the fuel pump and then ignition do not have supply voltage.
I can hold it to the floor and it is as though i have no gas pedal at all.
Got a new fuel pump got the injector nozzles cleaned and it still won t accelate.
I also have a unresponsive gas pedal when i hit cruising speed.
Acceleration works in reverse and 1st and 2nd gear but only half the time in drive.
What i usually do is to down shift the gear from d to 3 let it ride at 3000 for a little before switching back to d.
The fluid should not go below the minimum level or cross the maximum level.
I got gas back in.
